THE GREENING OF ARIYASOM
The tropical gardens at Ariyasomvilla have taken so well and over the last three months have grown significantly - a combination of good top soil, lots of rain and sunshine have helped the gardens really establish themselves.

Soft Opening at Ariyasom
On Saturday the 26th of July Ariyasom held a "Soft" Opening Party. Some 50 invitees enjoyed cocktails by the pool. A Dinner was also hosted for about 20 persons and 4 rooms were occupied that night. It was all part of our run in and training schedule. We are glad to report that all went well.
We have now fixed our commercial opening for the 28th of August and should be in a position to open at least 18 of our 24 rooms - perhaps even 21. The remaining rooms will follow a week or two after that.

Mural Paintings at Ariyasom
Although built around a 1940's style Bangkok House we still feel that the decoration should be fresh and vibrant. To this end we have employed a mural artist and he has now commenced work. His first commission is to add life and colour to the main stairway. We have several other areas for Khun Bank to work on and we think that the results will speak for themselves.

FRANGIPANI - REPLANTED
Another good day as we successfully transplanted a very large Frangipani Tree. We believe the tree to be well over 40 years - possibly more like 60 years old. We originally had to move it as it was located over the underground car park. So it has been in a temporary location for the past 18 months plus. Today we hired a 25 ton crane and moved it to it's permanent location. All went well and this beautiful tree is in a place of prominence.
Actually, we had many trees and shrubs before we started construction in the garden - we had them moved to our nursery at Klong 12 on the way to Nakon Nayok - very soon now they will be heading back home to Ariyasom.

Progress at Ariyasom
We are glad to say that we are making good progress at Ariyasom and are looking forward to achieving our "soft opening" in July.
Our floors are teak wood - all of which is recycled old wood. Teak certainly makes the most beautiful flooring and with 10" planks are a very beautiful feature of the Hotel. We buy our old wood up in Ayuthaya which is the centre of the old teak wood trade. We have made numerous trips up there and have selected piece by piece.
As the planks are wide we have to screw and glue them on to wooden batons set in the floor. The screws are counter sunk and plugged with teak. Finishing is achieved with numerous coatings of Sherwin Williams matt, water based acrylic lacquer. The end product is both pleasing and practical.
We hope that you will come and see the results for yourselves as soon as we open.
